Speed Skating is a competitive form of skating in which the competitors race each other in traveling a certain distance on ice skates.

Short Track Speed Skating is mass start racing on a smaller rink, normally the size of an ice hockey rink. One lap is 111.12 meters long. It is sometimes called “human nascar”. It is a quickly developing sport in the United States due to the renowned US skater and celebrity Apolo Anton Ohno. Subsequent to the first American individual gold medal in the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic games. Short Track Speed Skating is a growing spectacle among all audiences in the U.S. Currently the U.S. is considered to be one of strongest countries in the world next to Korea, China, and Canada.
